I bought the Maybelline Cover Stick concealer awhile ago but I’ve only ever used it once or twice. I threw away the wrapper thing the
concealer came in but I know it says that it gives full coverage and it’s
perfect for dark circles and blemishes.
Pros of this product to me:
This concealer definitely does come
in handy on days when you just need coverage. It’s small and portable. It’s
somewhat blendable if you use a lot of it. It’s like in a... lipstick sorta
container, you just twist the bottom and it comes out (is it just me, or does
that sound dirty?).
Cons of this Product to me:
The first time I used this product,
I got like this... almost zit-like bump on my cheek and it was super itchy, so
if you have sensitive skin like me, you may or may not get a ... skin reaction.
You literally rub the stick concealer onto your skin (like lipstick) so it’s
not very hygienic or sanitary. It definitely cracks and if you use too much
powder it’ll look cakey. In order to make it work, you need to use a lot of it
and it feels heavy. It clogged my pores and made me break out, it also isn’t
waterproof or sweat-proof, but it won’t like drip down your face, it’ll just
transfer. The container is plastic and I’ve dropped it a few times without it
breaking but I know that if I chucked it onto the ground with force, it would
break. It doesn’t come in a lot of shades and most of the shades are for fair
skinned people, it also comes in green though.
I bought this concealer at a
drugstore for about 10 bucks, so it’s not too expensive but it’s not cheap.
Personally, I don’t really like it. It obviously has more cons than pros... It’s
like rubbing a combination of clay and crayon on your face. It does cover dark
circles, but it’s obvious that you’re wearing concealer.
You have to prime your skin before using this product; I use my
fingers to blend it because using a concealer brush just will not work. It’s somewhat
creamy, it’s solid and you need to use force to apply it evenly. I would only
use recommend this product to those who have normal skin and combination skin...
it’ll look cakey on dry skin and it’s not worth breaking out for oily skin.
I moisturize my skin then prime
before I use this product, afterwards, I use foundation, and you really can’t
use it alone... or at least I couldn’t. Like I’ve said before, we’re all different;
this concealer didn’t really work for me. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it but
I’ll probably give it another chance sometime soon.
I've seen a lot of good reviews for this concealer, but from my experience, I'll have to say I don't like it.
